Re: How do I get a VB.NET 2010 application to use Acrobat’s “Adobe PDF” printer?

Thanks, but this does not seem to answer my question. I know that the SDK provides a way to suppress the prompt, but that is not what I am trying to do. I was expecting a prompt but received none and no PDF was created. When I use CutePDF with the VB.NET app, it prompts for a filename and creates a PDF. No special code is needed in the application. I expected the "Adobe PDF" printer to behave the same way, because when I print to that "printer" from other applications, such as Word and Excel, it also prompts for a filename and creates a PDF. What I am trying to figure out is whether the "Adobe PDF" printer should handle PDF creation from standard print commands but there is an incompatibility between VB.NET 2010 and that printer driver or whether selecting the "Adobe PDF" printer just signals the underlying VB.NET program that it must do so. The reports being created would be simple text files if written to files, so it seems a bit absurd to have to write elaborate code to generate a PDF.
