I think I figured out what to do. The plugin needs to use SandboxHFT_VERSION_1 instead of the latest version. Also, the broker process needs to be created using SbxLaunchPIBrokerExtn instead of SbxLaunchPIBrokerExe, which then allows you to call CreateFileW using the output pipe name to get the client pipe handle.
